How to get TRC Card in Azerbaijan
The Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Article 45, outlines the criteria to get and extend the duration of TRC Cards in Azerbaijan. Accordingly, we offer our legal services to the following categories of foreigners to get or extend the duration of an Azerbaijan TRC:
- Real Estate Investors: To get or extend an Azerbaijan TRC, foreigners must invest a minimum of AZN 100,000 (approximately USD 59,000) in real estate in the country.
- Bank Deposit: Foreigners are also eligible to get or extend a TRC in Azerbaijan if they deposit at least AZN 100,000 (approximately USD 59,000) into local banks under a term deposit agreement;
- Company Director and Founder: Foreigners who are either the director or a founder of a company with foreign investment are also eligible to apply for a TRC Azerbaijan (Business TRC). To clarify, this law applies to founders if they own a minimum of 51% of the shares in a company with foreign investment in Azerbaijan. Additionally, the paid-up Charter Capital (Investment Capital) of the company must be at least AZN 50,000 (approximately USD 30,000).
- Foreign Company Branch Manager and Deputy Manager: Foreigners who are managers or deputy managers in the branch or representative office of a foreign company are also eligible to apply for and get a TRC Card in Azerbaijan.
- Investment in the Economy: Foreigners who invest at least AZN 500,000 (approximately USD 295,000) in the country’s economy are eligible to get and extend an Azerbaijan TRC Card.
- Family members of the TRC Holders: Family members of residence card holders are also eligible to apply for and obtain an Azerbaijan TRC.
TRC Azerbaijan Application Process
The State Migration Service issues and extends the duration of a TRC in Azerbaijan. Foreigners can apply for a temporary residence card and its extension both offline and online. Applicants who meet the criteria should simply collect the necessary documents and apply accordingly. The processing time for TRC Card applications in Azerbaijan typically ranges from 15 to 20 business days. At the end of the application process, if the Migration Service of Azerbaijan grants permission, they will issue the relevant TRC in Azerbaijan.
Foreigners in the country can initially obtain an Azerbaijan TRC for a period of up to one year. Additionally, TRC holders can apply to extend their permits for up to two years at a time, provided there is a relevant ground for the extension.

- Copy of passport;
- Medical certificate;
